Please check it out. as there won't be any posts on here for a long time.<br />

I love drawing, I always have, and when I started the hobby it let me use my creativity in a broader sense. Now, however, I see only an opportunity to join my two favourite things (nearly)...<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
However, I don't know if this is a good idea to include in my blog, as to be honest, I'm not that great, see the image above, albeit its a copy of an image by John Blanche.<br />
<br />
What I was thinking would be either, quickly illustrating the content of the post each time, or a weekly update as mentioned in the title. The first idea would be the most time consuming, so could reduce the number of posts I make, possibly reducing this to a weekend blog, however, that does not appeal to me....<br />
<br />
Anyway, as usual I will keep you guys posted. What would you like to see, suggestions are always welcome.<br />
<br />
Thanks, Jevans.<br />

Update:<br />
I have recently been working with some air drying clay, making some ruins based off some photos I took of tynemouth priory. Might be posting some posts again on terrain tutorials this week. I will be finally finishing the shattered Aquilas, making some replacement craters, and possibly starting work on some trench lines, but we'll see... i only have two hands after all (tzeentch if you are listening).<br />
<br />
Anyway, that's for next time, thanks.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXtVHagiltVCWrtSNxPFOYm2Bzr3-Cfib6PpFLGDKkmoGLsMK7z1W3QEhMqRKKFdejtKwYWBtEshjNnFg7VUXISxUu-tLMkU5ZfhIlOy_npkGPCLNTGiuOY0wpF7xIfldMRnYppQ6q98GG/s1600/SavedPicture%252892%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXtVHagiltVCWrtSNxPFOYm2Bzr3-Cfib6PpFLGDKkmoGLsMK7z1W3QEhMqRKKFdejtKwYWBtEshjNnFg7VUXISxUu-tLMkU5ZfhIlOy_npkGPCLNTGiuOY0wpF7xIfldMRnYppQ6q98GG/s1600/SavedPicture%252892%2529.jpg" height="305" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Meet Big Bob, just your average great unclean one. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(Currently in use as a proxy of Scabeiathrax the Bloated)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
A few years back whilst searching for good deals on eBay, I came across this little beast, a great unclean one made out of green stuff... Lets me just tell you that this picture does not do the model justice, the guy who sculpted this did a great job in my opinion, and I probably could talk for several more hours about how great he is. However, this is not a post about a great model, this is a post about the rise and fall of the Daemon Lord of Chaos.</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Back in the day when gargantuan creatures were few and far between, only really played in apocalypse games, gargantuan creatures (and indeed any so called lord of war) had their place, used only for special occasions and fun, where winning was not the priority. Models such as Scabeiathrax were hard to kill but very rarely effected the outcome of the game significantly. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
In today's game, with escalation now widely in use, apparently anything goes, you can see army flattening units such as the revenant titan for the Eldar or the transcendent c'tan for the Necrons. Bringing me to my point, is my favourite model now redundant? Is Big Bob Dead?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
With the inclusion of Destroyer weapons, these once unstoppable behemoths are now little more than automated piles of scrap, moving ever closer to their ultimate destruction at the hands of one of the many D-Weapon wielding lords of war. Sadly Even the 370pt knight titan wields a destroyer weapon, and is able to easily inflict 5 woulds on most gargantuan creatures. The massive Lord of Skulls, is even more of a threat albeit at a higher cost.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
However, the likes of the Revenant Titan and the Transcendent C'tan eclipses all unlucky enough to fall under their shadow. Both of which could easily take out the 6 wound Daemon Lord in a single shooting phase. I must admit though, that I now own a Transcendent C'tan, as sad as it is, there is no escaping these Death stars amongst death stars. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Will this make me stop using Big Bob though? No, because often you will enjoy a hard fought game, with an army you love more than the winning itself.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
but if you are tired of losing to these killers, when you cant beat 'em, you might as well join them.</div>
<br /></div>

Well, sadly I've had considerable work over the last week and was unable to update the blog, so I'm just posting to say that the blog may have been down but its most certainly not out.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
Over the weekend I will be finishing off the aquila tutorial, having a look at some paper scenery designed by another blogger as suggested by GI JOE, and even possibly a tutorial on replacement moonscape craters.<br />
<br />
Anyway, posting should be back to normal now, expect extra content over the next few days. Once again, all suggestions are welcome, just leave what you want to see in the comments section below. (I really do take your opinions into account).<br />
<br />
Thanks, Jevans.</div>

So, after the completion of my first ever tutorial, it suddenly dawned on me...<br />
...I don't actually have a gaming table yet. This has allowed me to begin planning a custom built board, however, although I have ideas, I thought it would be better to let you decide what you would like to see built rather than me dictating the content.<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<br />
Current ideas:<br />
Imperial Bastion<br />
Imperial Fortress Walls (Forgeworld style)<br />
Trench network<br />
Tau research outpost<br />
etc.<br />
<br />
This however, may take some time to get going, as the blog is still young. This means that you, YES YOU, have the option to get your say in the designing of a board. If you have any ideas, simply post them in the comments section below, or email me at jevans716@hotmail.com.<br />
<br />
Thanks, see you next time.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hi, finally going to be able to put this up after what seemed like the worlds longest delay from loosing the original set of images, sorry. I had to redo the tutorial at double speed to get this out by the end of the day, so here it is:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What you will need:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Foam board (a single a4 sheet will be more than enough)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hobby knife</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Ball-point pen</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Printout of Aquila on thin paper (the cheaper the better)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Super glue (although pva will suffice)<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>Step 1: Getting it drawn.</u></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Cut the printout of the aquila to the shape and size you want the terrain piece to be.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-wQevFT6pjWd5bromEstqoh6lJ6mzqtBnGTiBSkDi6VjQmAHe9yappEhXj_gTFSSFqTHtcJ_dyJIOQB7co6iRYYdqcwXxILnDy5rSSrn_uWtuIrX3nv3_rQly5l3U7X95-eyTgmcOGxhQ/s1600/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-wQevFT6pjWd5bromEstqoh6lJ6mzqtBnGTiBSkDi6VjQmAHe9yappEhXj_gTFSSFqTHtcJ_dyJIOQB7co6iRYYdqcwXxILnDy5rSSrn_uWtuIrX3nv3_rQly5l3U7X95-eyTgmcOGxhQ/s1600/1.jpg" height="146" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="text-align: center;">Now, turning the image ink side down, trace the outline of the aquila with a ballpoint pen. If you cannot see the outline, simple turn the image ink side up and outline with the ballpoint pen, pressing firmly to indent the foam board underneath. both methods come with a similar outcome, although i prefer the first as it gives you more to look at when cutting.</span><br />
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWJ9Odi7fL_f2_apFwsAI3F4iMOg0ABV-yEm8C88F5iiC72WsawwHTA6Q6tc7kgY58Wt9YfhyQDIhhJ4HVCrzs7RMsbyuPRtugkjAqJ3sWCvxb4CbomwdMGQigvuICSwv1zXvMMGwxaykk/s1600/2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWJ9Odi7fL_f2_apFwsAI3F4iMOg0ABV-yEm8C88F5iiC72WsawwHTA6Q6tc7kgY58Wt9YfhyQDIhhJ4HVCrzs7RMsbyuPRtugkjAqJ3sWCvxb4CbomwdMGQigvuICSwv1zXvMMGwxaykk/s1600/2.jpg" height="171" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you chose the first method then some of the ink will come off the paper and stick to the foam board leaving the perfect outline of the aquila (see image below).<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggbLuv2aTpgDzwt9lhDbqMTPDPLK_V7NuXnMdRdZu3qKMa0YK3ZDhDvW5UM4eFNbkx0Z23-ugkMjTFqOkX77iVdwjOqaPA_G3-NXqCiRVoW7oBuVfEyhlQcBg9xA1qXLbqOzKKjqae_Z9T/s1600/3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggbLuv2aTpgDzwt9lhDbqMTPDPLK_V7NuXnMdRdZu3qKMa0YK3ZDhDvW5UM4eFNbkx0Z23-ugkMjTFqOkX77iVdwjOqaPA_G3-NXqCiRVoW7oBuVfEyhlQcBg9xA1qXLbqOzKKjqae_Z9T/s1600/3.jpg" height="124" width="320" /></a></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="text-align: center;">The next thing you will need to do is to draw around the aquila, forming the base of the terrain piece itself. Remember to leave room for any raised areas of land. I chose to use two, as you want to keep it relatively flat, to both present the aquila with as little distortion as possible, and to make it a functional piece of terrain that models can stand on.</span></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyXyKz9NJ3s7jNWvwK_n4UW0oUuIQEVsL4cTnPzeATE6b_w3Xjg1jmp17h_owc3Eku1e8m2USsAq9G3emQ_7_jTJ9YZEXw3oR7Ruo8PrqX1hH8ZeYm1e66fvYTUBVPEENhlnLUhlsQD6j5/s1600/4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyXyKz9NJ3s7jNWvwK_n4UW0oUuIQEVsL4cTnPzeATE6b_w3Xjg1jmp17h_owc3Eku1e8m2USsAq9G3emQ_7_jTJ9YZEXw3oR7Ruo8PrqX1hH8ZeYm1e66fvYTUBVPEENhlnLUhlsQD6j5/s1600/4.jpg" height="225" width="320" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>Step 2: Cutting, the basics.</u></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Using a hobby knife, carefully cut out the outlines of both the hill sections and the aquila itself. The tip when cutting foam board is to lightly score the first layer of card, then to cut down with full pressure applied once the first layer has been cut. This technique ensures that you will get a nice clean cut. Take especial care cutting out the fiddly bis such as the feet. I tend to leave the head and neck sections together as pictured as this allows for easier placement later on, although you could cut them out fully if you wished.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After you have cut out the pieces, cut around the hill sections with the hobby knife angled, so as to give a bevelled edge. Try to get the Transition between each bit as smooth as possible.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqfisuRRtJZfNWRTtA8IoO7bwvgZalL_2hTmGD7qlnqOrOXoNGTk3vJAvgymlfl40t4q1I4mplY8Y7sRhHkLWEjbReeD88fSzze3SWRGZQCplMsbf10URFhrRrCVmI4hTfd3SsLOWfmFNM/s1600/5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqfisuRRtJZfNWRTtA8IoO7bwvgZalL_2hTmGD7qlnqOrOXoNGTk3vJAvgymlfl40t4q1I4mplY8Y7sRhHkLWEjbReeD88fSzze3SWRGZQCplMsbf10URFhrRrCVmI4hTfd3SsLOWfmFNM/s1600/5.jpg" height="320" width="294" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>Step 3: Final assembly.</u></div>
</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="text-align: center;">Glue the hill sections as you see fit, remembering the aquila will have to fit on later on.</span></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxz5IsGddP69meFhc6DToLpm52TKJzkKkTX7l7Oe26pMEOe1xuQNfHeMA4vmizShs20GT9t15sgoVS7yPUHuVrGiYKYhFRYxGiA987hQUosF9_g79DZTNj_Af0d5Cul329n5AqJrKFf5jj/s1600/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxz5IsGddP69meFhc6DToLpm52TKJzkKkTX7l7Oe26pMEOe1xuQNfHeMA4vmizShs20GT9t15sgoVS7yPUHuVrGiYKYhFRYxGiA987hQUosF9_g79DZTNj_Af0d5Cul329n5AqJrKFf5jj/s1600/6.jpg" height="169" width="320" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="text-align: center;">Now you can begin to place the sections of the aquila onto the base in a way that you like. At this stage, you will see where the aquila will have to be 'broken' in order to be in contact at all points with the base, cut accordingly. Remember, foam board does bend, so if you would rather bend some sections feel free to do so. You can also break bits in places that were in contact anyway, such as the wings.</span></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1sJV7rQI-LKI3oXuCpXXMbPfduJ_Y03prAC-RGiimpcVXDqRc940Fs9sysYmn76ArG6Z91sga4J0O5HRe8HBfbdOSxzZyt9-pUosPvhdskClTtnslBg7FEEVRljKtpWiJleegVHuLb25f/s1600/7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1sJV7rQI-LKI3oXuCpXXMbPfduJ_Y03prAC-RGiimpcVXDqRc940Fs9sysYmn76ArG6Z91sga4J0O5HRe8HBfbdOSxzZyt9-pUosPvhdskClTtnslBg7FEEVRljKtpWiJleegVHuLb25f/s1600/7.jpg" height="153" width="320" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="text-align: center;">Now that the aquila is cut, you can begin to glue it onto the base, being careful to place it in the same way you chose before. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdJlmHck6ycxvFm41vhsb8fm_k7QE0SsNs1ZbBeW3L-LnGeXB05k_u6rD-woYRSsEEiec1m0mDuZnM9RZAeW1YoJm9hEcYdzzyjwv82iZzMfm_TGBtz0L2jICuopRanVom_9C9iyU9jmNX/s1600/8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdJlmHck6ycxvFm41vhsb8fm_k7QE0SsNs1ZbBeW3L-LnGeXB05k_u6rD-woYRSsEEiec1m0mDuZnM9RZAeW1YoJm9hEcYdzzyjwv82iZzMfm_TGBtz0L2jICuopRanVom_9C9iyU9jmNX/s1600/8.jpg" height="154" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="text-align: center;">Give the base one last trim around the edge to fit. and you are done with the foam board construction.</span><br />
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span>
<span style="text-align: center;">I hope this was a decent attempt at my first ever tutorial, if you have any further questions, or ideas, simply write it in the comments section below.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Next time in 'Shattered Aquila Tutorial pt 2', I will continue to add to the base of the shattered aquila, later base coating it before the final paint job in part 3.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hi, Jevans here and welcome to my 1st ever blog, so, as I am new, i am unsure of how this will work out, content is not yet decided. it will however be solely about the games workshop hobby, warhammer 40k.<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A little context:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have been it the hobby for around a decade, only recently finding a regular gaming group, i am relatively unproven in tournaments, although this year may be my first. I will post anything and everything about my experience of the hobby, from my basic painting guides to more tactics related discussions. I am a devoted chaos player, who has until recently played only chaos marines and daemons, this year starting my necron army. It is all currently unpainted so if i do get around to posting any battle reports, they might start off a bit grey to start with.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What would you like to see?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Think of this blog as a tale of one gamer as it were, with possible guest articles from my gaming group, who are all in a similar position, so expect content for orks, spacewolves, tau and much more. Being new to the whole blogging scene and all, I thought it would be best asking you, what you would like to see on here. Post your suggestions in the comments section below.<br />
